Stella Anguiano is Próspero’s master distiller - one of the very few female distillers
of tequila. Stella has been crafting tequila in Jalisco for thirty years and at the Orendain family distillery for over twenty. Here, Anguiano has perfected the art of tequila making, from roasting of agave hearts to hand selecting the spirit’s final cut. She is a trailblazer in the industry, challenging the accepted gender norms from the beginning of her career to paving the way forward for women who have been inspired by her passion, dedication and success.
“Being a woman in a male dominated industry was quite difficult. The challenge for me was changing the mentality of the men I was working with and prove to them that I could do good work – just as well as them. In the early years the older men were afraid of a woman managing them. But slowly and surely I changed their mindset. Handcrafted by Stella Anguiano, one of Mexico’s few female Master Distillers of 30 years, Próspero is a tequila, unparalled in flavor and vibrancy; a spirit made with all women in mind.
Assembled by hand. Próspero Tequila is an entirely custom creation: the glass bottles are an original, hand-blown work of art. Perfectly balanced tequila is poured by hand into each bottle and the elegantly designed label and natural cork are assembled by hand.
